Partnership Program

partnership2Ptil Tekhelet’s Partnership Program effectively matches vibrant Jewish community involvement with innovative schools to provide a unique educational experience. The program presents the mitzvah of tzitzit with tekhelet in an independent, hands-on fashion. While emphasizing the halachic aspects, the topic is brought to life by showing the interaction between chemistry, biology, history and archaeology.

partnership5This supervised learning experience, requires a minimum of one 45 minute class period. The material is suitable for grades four and higher, and includes:

Hands-on dyeing of tekhelet with self-guided kits (up to 10 students per kit)
Multi-media  presentation
Source booklets
Wool processing workshop, including relevance to melachot shabbat

partnership1The cost of the program is $500 for a half-day program and $750 for a full day. Schools outside of NY and NJ will be charged an additional transportation fee.
