Just as there is nothing like learning about King David in Jerusalem or
about Jewish rebels at Masada, so too, there is nothing like the site of the
ancient port of Dor for encountering the topic of tekhelet. This natural and
historic environment not only encourages and enhances learning, but creates
an experience that will remain forever.
Explore the revival of tekhelet, the long-lost blue of the ancient world. Tekhelet, used in the royal garments of kings and emperors, is the Biblical blue required in the priestly garments of the Cohen Gadol, as well as in Jewish ritual fringes (tzizit). History, archaeology and chemistry, along with a Chasidic Rebbe, a former Chief Rabbi of Israel and marine biologists, provide the clues which lead "The Blue Riddle" to its solution. This is an ideal program for a fun and meaningful Bar Mitzvah experience! Click for pictures
